Purpose

The Prize is to be established to promote the activities of the International Society for Burn Injuries (ISBI) by encouraging and motivating young ISBI members from developing countries to conduct research on clinical problems and prevention of burns.

The Award

At the biennial ISBI Congress, total of six investigators will be awarded one of the following prizes.

Eligibility

To apply to the Prize, all of the following conditions must be met:

  1. He/She must be a paid-up ISBI member from developing countries as defined by the ISBI dues category of "low" income areas.
  2. He/She must be under the age of 40 years on the opening day of the biennial ISBI Congress.
  3. He/She must be the first author of the paper presented during the biennial ISBI Congress when Prize is given.

Application

When abstract for the biennial ISBI Congress is submitted, the applicant must specify desire to be considered.

Selection

The abstracts so submitted will be assessed for acceptance/rejection by a panel of the committee, and the accepted abstracts will be allocated to the specific session(s) so that the committee committee members including the session moderator(s) evaluate the presentations. The details of the application and selection will be decided by an appropriate ISBI committee.

Awarding the Prize

The Prize so selected will be awarded at the time of General Assembly of the biennial ISBI Congress.
